Technical Data
Albumin, Bovine Serum (BSA, ALB, Bos d 6, MGC179277)
Albumin is a stable small polypeptide with a strong antigenicity. Its molecular weight is about 69kD. It has a high mobility in electrophoresis, shows macro-heterogeneity especially under pathological conditions and it can bind a large number of physiological and non-physiological molecules.

Suitable for use in Immunoelectrophoresis, Single Radial Immunodiffusion and Double Radial Immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunoelectrophoresis: 2ul serum, plasma or equivalent against 120ul antiserum
Double Radial Immunodiffusion: Use a rosette arrangement with 10ul antiserum in 3mm diameter center well and 2ul serum samples (neat and serially diluted) in 2mm diameter
peripheral wells.
Single Radial Immunodiffusion: 0.5-1% in the agar gel.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
