Solubility: Soluble in methanol or 25mg/ml DMSO. Applications: The free form of AFC can be used as a fluorescent marker and standard in fluororometric caspase assays. Protocol: Prepare a 1mM solutionof AFC in methanol or DMSO and then dilute it into aqueous buffer at different concentrations within the 0-4uM range. Read 100ul/sample. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with methanol or DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
