Angiopoietin 1 (Agpt, ang1, Ang1, Ang-1, ANG-1, Angiopoietin-1)
Tie-1 (human 1138aa; mouse 1134aa) is a type 1 membrane receptor protein specifically expressed in developing vascular endothelial cells. Murine and human Ang-1 are 498aa secreted angiogenic proteins. It is only 60% homologous with Ang-2. Ang-1 is the natural ligand for Tie-2 and is primarily expressed in developing endothelial cells.

Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:10,000-1:100,000 (50-100ng of control peptide/
Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 (Expected size of Ang-1 is ~55kD)
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Synthetic peptide corresponding to 20aa near the N-terminus of the mouse Ang-1 (KLH). Species Sequence Homology: Human: 90%; porcine, rat, bovine: 95%.
Neat serum
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.05% sodium azide.
Recognizes mouse Ang-1 (~55kD). Detects ~70kD glycosylated, secreted protein in the conditioned media from cells expressing recombinant Ang-1. No significant sequence homology with Ang-2.
