Dehydrated culture media suitable for the microbial assay and detection of antibiotics in milk and plate counts in pharmaceutical products. Formulated in acordance with the specifications and protocols as listed by the FDA, Grove and Randall and USP 23.

Description:
The activity of an antibiotic can be demonstrated under suitable conditions by its inhibitory effect on organisms. Antibiotic assays are performed by the cylinder plate method and the turbidimetric assay. These media has been formulated according to the specifications and procedures listed by the Food and Drug Administration, European Pharmacopeia, Code of Federal Regulations, and the USP. The Antibiotic Media are identified numerically and also, where applicable, with names assigned by Grove and Randall in Assay Methods of Antibiotics.

Storage:
Store the sealed bottle containing the dehydrated medium at 2 to 30.0C. Once opened and recapped, place the container in a low humidity environment at the same storage temperature. Protect it from moisture and light. The dehydrated medium should be discarded if it is not free flowing or if the color has changed from the original light beige color.
