ATG5 (Autophagy Protein 5, APG5-like, Apoptosis-specific Protein, APG5L, ASP) |
|
|
Description: ATG5 is required for the process of autophagy, an intracellular process for bulk degradation of cytoplasmic components. ATG5 conjugates to ATG12 and associates with isolation membranes to form autophagosomes. The autophagosomes then enclose cytoplasmic components and deliver them to lysosomes/vacuoles to be degraded. ATG5 has been shown to be involved in apoptosis with expression late in the apoptotic process downstream of caspase activity. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
