CAMKIV (Calcium/Calmodulin-dependent Protein Kinase Type IV, CAM Kinase-GR, CaMK IV, CAMK4)
Calmodulin dependent protein kinases, with a molecular weight of 65kD, consist of a family of Ser/Thr protein kinases including CaMK I, CaMK II, and CaMK IV. CaMKs are considered to play a central role in many cellular functions in response to Ca2+ signaling, including synthesis and secretion of neurotransmitters, axonal transport, long term potentiation, etc. CaM kinase IV is abundantly expressed in the brain and the thymus, and is localized o the cytoplasm and nucleus.

Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 2.5-5ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry: 1:50 for 10min at RT
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10min followed by cooling at room temperature for 20min
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Positive Control:
Jurkat cells. Brain

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
