Source: Recombinant corresponding to 201aa from human Cardiotrophin 1 expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~21.5kD Activity: ED50 <1.0 ng/ml (>1 x 106units/mg). The biological activity was determined by measuring the dose-dependent proliferation of TF-1 cells. Cardiotrophin-1 is a member of the IL-6 family of cytokines which includes IL-6, Leukemia Inhibitory Factor, Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor, Oncostatin M and Interleukin 11. The receptor for Cardiotrophin-1 is gp130 (CD130). Cardiotrophin-1 was originally identified by its ability to stimulate cardiac hypertrophy. As with all members of the IL-6 family of cytokines, Cardiotrophin-1 induces hepatic expression of acute phase proteins. Endotoxin: <0.1 ng/ug Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: ~21.5kD |
Source: E. coli Purity: ~98% (SDS PAGE, HPLC) Concentration: Not determined Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder in PBS. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O PBS to 0.1-1mg/ml.
