Description:
CARMA1 is a 1154aa protein playing a major role in the activation of NF-kappa-B through BCL10 and IKK. It contains a caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD) and is thus included in the CARD protein family, a guanylate kinase-like domain and a PDZ (DHR) domain. The domain structure is similar to that of CARD14 protein and belongs to a class of proteins known as the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family acting as molecular scaffolds. Binding of CARD11 and BCL10, a positive regulator of cell apoptosis and NF-kappaB activation, to each other occurs by CARD-CARD interaction and it stimulates the phosphorylation of BCL10. CARMA1 is detected in adult peripheral blood leukocytes, thymus, spleen and liver and in some cell lines except in HeLa S3, Molt-4, A549 and G431 cells.

Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
