Description: Catenins are proteins associated with complexes that contain cadherin cell adhesion molecules. Delta-1-catenin is a member of the p120 Catenin subfamily and is a structural protein involved in neuronal development. It interacts with Actin, Cortactin and Src Kinases to promote neurite elongation or branching, depending upon its phosphorylation state. Like beta-catenin and gamma-catenin, delta-catenins appear to interact with presenilins. These catenin-presenilin interactions can impact cadherin function and regulation of cell-to-cell adhesion. While beta-catenin acts as a transcription regulatory protein in the Wnt/TCF pathway, delta-catenin has been implicated as a regulator of the NF-kB transcription factor. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded): 1:15 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
