Technical Data
CBX8 (CBX-8, Chromobox Homolog 8, PC3, HPC3, Human Polycomb 3, RC1)
Component of the Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1 complex, a complex required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of many genes, including Hox genes, throughout development. PcG PRC1 complex acts via chromatin remodeling and modification of histones; it mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A 'Lys-119', rendering chromatin heritably changed in its expressibility (By similarity).

Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blotting: 1:1000-1:2000
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

The epitope recognized maps to a region between residue 350 and the C-terminus (residue 389) of human Chromobox homolog 8 using the numbering given in entry NP_065700.1 (GeneID 57332).
Purified by peptide immunoaffinity chromatography.
Supplied as a liquid Tris-citrate/phosphate buffer, pH 7 to 8.
This antibody is specific to the CBX8 protein. Species Crossreactivity: Human. Other species not yet tested.
