Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor (CNTF) is a potent neural factor that was originally characterized as a survivability factor for chick ciliary neurons in vitro. More recently, CNTF has been shown to promote survivability and differentiation of other neuronal cell types. Recombinant Human CNTF is a 22.9kDa protein containing 200 amino acid residues. Biological Activity: Determined by the ability to stimulate proliferation of huma nTF-1 cells using a concentration range of 50-150ng/ml Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 5mM sodium phosphate, pH 7.5, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Country of Origin: USA |
Source: E. coli Purity: 98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC. Endotoxin: 0.1ng/ug (1EU/ug). Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 5mM sodium phoshate, pH7.5, 5mM sodium chloride. Reconstitute with 5mM sodium phosphate, pH 7.5 to 0.1mg/ml. Important Note: This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
