Claudin 4 (CLDN4)
Claudin 4 is a multipass membrane protein in the claudin family of tight junction proteins. Claudin 4 is a 209 amino acid molecule with four transmembrane segments. It is preferentially expressed in intestinal mucosa epithelium and is involved in epithelial tissue development. It is also upregulated in several carcinomas. Phosphorylation of claudin 4 regulates paracellular epithelial permeability. Human claudin 4 shares 83% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat claudin 4.

Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Flow Cytometry: 25ug/10e6 cells. Validated for use with PC-3 human prostate cancer cell line.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes human Claudin 4. Recognizes an epitope in the first extracellular loop (between aa 29-81). Stains human Claudin 4 transfectants but not irrelevant transfectants.
