Description:
COX-2 has been cloned from a variety of species including human, rat, and sheep and has a molecular weight of 72kDa.1,2,3,4, COX-2 from these species are approximately 90% identical at the amino acid level, whereas the homology between COX-1 and COX-2 is only about 60%. Expression of COX-2 is regulated by growth factors, tumor promoters, bacterial endotoxin and cytokines, including IL-1 beta.5,6 COX-2 is present in human breast tumors but is not expressed in normal breast tissue.7

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 2ug/ml (1:200)
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
