Description: Desmosomes are a type of intercellular junction between epithelial, myocardial, and certain other cell types. Desmoglein 1 is a calcium-binding transmembrane glycoprotein component of desmosomes in vertebrate epithelial cells. Currently, three desmoglein isoforms have been identified: DSG1, DSG2 and DSG3; all members of the cadherin cell adhesion molecule family. DSG1 has been identified as the autoantigen of the autoimmune skin blistering disease pemphigus foliaceus. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:32,000 Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 3.75ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
