Technical Data
DSG4 (Desmoglein 4, Cadherin family member 13, CDGF13, CDHF13, Desmoglein-4, LAH)
Desmoglein-4 is ~110kD type I transmembrane glycoprotein in the cadherin family of calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecules. Desmogleins interact with transmembrane Desmocollins to form the adhesive components of desmosomes on epithelial cells. Desmoglein-4 contains four cadherin repeats in its extracellular region and two desmoglein repeat domains in its cytoplasmic region. Alternate splicing generates an additional isoform with a substitution in the cytoplasmic region. Desmoglein-4 is expressed on keratinocytes and trichocytes in the epidermis and hair follicles. It is required for hair follicle development, and DSG4 mutations are associated with autosomal recessive hypotrichosis. Within aa24-631 (which includes the 26aa propeptide and the ECD), human Desmoglein-4 shares 82aa sequence identity with mouse and rat Desmoglein-4.

Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 0.1ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
