Ezrin (EZR, CVIL, CVL, Cytovillin, DKFZp762H157, FLJ26216, MGC1584, p81, VIL2, Villin-2)
Human ezrin, otherwise known as villin 2, an 80kD cytoplasmic peripheral membrane protein and member of the ezrin, radixin, moesin (ERM) protein family, which acts as protein-tyrosine
kinase substrate. Ezrin is enriched in microvilli and other cell surface structures and plays a key role in cell surface structure adhesion, membrane trafficking, motility and organization Ezrin acts as a linker protein between the plasma membrane and the actin cytoskeleton, and provides anchorage for cell surface molecules such as ICAM and CD44. Studies have implicated ezrin in the metastatic capacity of various types of human tumors including breast, prostate, bone and colon cancers.

Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:16,000
Western Blot: 1.0-3.0ug/ml. Detects a band of ~80kD in human placenta and duodenum cell lysates.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
