Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (erbB, EGFR), Extracellular Domain |
|
|
Description: EGFR is type I receptor tyrosine kinase with sequence homology to erbB-1, -2, -3, -4 or HER-1, -2, -3, -4. It binds to epidermal growth factor (EGF), transforming growth factor-a (TGFa), heparin binding EGF (HB-EGF), amphiregulin, betacellulin and epiregulin. EGFR is overexpressed in tumors of breast, brain, bladder, lung, gastric, head and neck, esophagus, cervix, vulva, ovary and endometrium. It is predominantly present in squamous cell carcinomas. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Affinity Purification, Blocking of EGF/TGFa-induced Activation of EGFR, Inhibition of Cell Proliferation (A431 cells), Arrests tumor growth in vivo. Not suitable for Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunoprecipitation: Native only. Affinity Purification: Recommended to use E3375-03X Blocking of EGF/TGFa-induced Activation of EGFR: 0.5ug/ml, cells induced by 30ng/ml EGF. Recommended to use E3375-03X. Arrests tumor growth in vivo: Recommended to use E3375-03X. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: A431 cells Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
