Fibroblast growth factor 22, a protein which in humans is encoded by the FGF22 gene, is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth,morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. The mouse homolog of this gene was found to be preferentially expressed in the inner root sheath of the hair follicle, which suggested a role in hair development.

Recombinant Human FGF-22 produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 148 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 17173D.

Biological Activity:

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile dH2O or buffer of choice and store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
