Description: GLUT-1 (Glucose transporter 1), a ubiquitously expressed integral membrane glycoprotein, and member of the major facilitator superfamily, which plays a major role in the transport of glucose across the cell membrane, and the blood-brain barrier. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000. detects a band at ~ 54kD in human Jurkat cell lysates. Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:100 This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Immunohistochemistry Positive Control: Colorectal carcinoma Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
