Description: B7-H2 is detected on the surface of monocyte derived immature dendritic cells. It is a putative ligand for ICOS (inducible costimulator) from CD28 family of T cell-costimulators. Costimulatory interactions between the B7 family ligands and their receptors like CD28, CTLA-4 and ICOS play critical role in the growth, differentiation and death of T cells. B7-H2 has four conserved structural cysteins in its extracellular domain which are believed to form the Ig V like and IgC-like domain. In addition, B7-H2 has a conserved tyrosine residue in the Ig V-like domain at position of aa80. B7-H2 shares ~46% homology at amino acid level to B7h/B7RP-1, a recently described B7 like protein of mouse origin. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: Tested on BOSC cells transiently transfected with an ICOS Ligand expression vector. Optimal conditions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
