IGF-I (E3R) (insulin-like growth factor I) is a 70 amino acid analog of human IGF-I with the substitution of an Arg for Glu at position 3. IGF-I (E3R) is significantly more potent than IGF-I in vitro and in vivo because IGF-I (E3R) has decreased binding to all IGF binding proteins. Biological Activity: Stimulation of protein synthesis in L6 myoblasts: ED50 = 19.9ng/ml. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding 100mM acetic acid or 10mM HCL. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. . |
Source: E. coli Purity: >95% by SDS-Page and HPLC. Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder form 0.1M acetic acid. Reconstitute in 100mM acetic acid or 10mM HCl. Diluting to concentrations of <1mg/ml requires addition of carrier protein (0.1-mg/ml RIA grade BSA) to minimize adsorption of peptide to glass or plastic surfaces. A carrier protein is not necessary for use in the presence of fetal bovine serum in cell culture. Important Note: This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
