Standard methods medium for growth of coliform bacteria in water and food.

Membrane Lauryl Sulfate Broth is used for determination of Escherichia coli and coliforms in water, using membrane filter technique.


Directions per Liter Dissolve 76.2 grams per liter of distilled/deionized (DDI) water, heating with stirring until completely solubilized, adjusting pH as necessary. Dispense into appropriate containers, loosen caps and autoclave for 15 minutes at 121C (15psi).

Storage Store at prepared media at 4C and protect from direct sunlight. (store unopened powder media at 2-25C). Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a dark, low humidity environment.
