Luciferin is the substrate for luciferase and is used in highly sensitive bioluminescence assays for the detection of ATP; the generation of light is directly proportional to the concentration of ATP. Also used in detection of the luciferase marker gene. Reconstitution: Reconstitute with nitrogen purged water. Water (KF): <9.0% Storage and Stability: Long-term storage is recommended at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Hygroscopic, Light sensitive. Note: Luciferin is easily oxidized in the presence of light. Solutions of this product should not be stored. If frozen, solutions will degrade approximately 20% with each freeze-thaw. CAS Number: 103404-75-7 Molecular Formula: C11H7N2O3S2Na Molecular Weight: 302.3 |
Purity (HPLC): ~99% Appearance: Supplied as a pale yellow to yellow, crystalline powder. |
