Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor (M-CSF) is produced by various cell types, including fibroblasts, macrophages and endothelial cells. This colonly stimulating factor is involved in both the development and function of monocytes/macropahges. Human M-CSF is a disulfide-linked homodimer composed of 18.4kD subunits of 158 amino acid residues. Biological Activity: Human M-CSF is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine M-NFS-60 cells is 5 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 2x10e5 units/mg. . Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile ddH2O, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Country of Origin: USA Molecular Weight: 36.8kD |
