Magnetic silica beads with Protein G covalently bound to the surface. Bead size is 1um. The recombinant Protein G (~26kD) on the surface of our beads contain only IgG binding sites. The albumin, cell wall and cell membrane binding domains, present on the wild-type Protein G, have been removed to optimize binding properties. The advantage of Protein G beads, compared to Streptavidin beads, is that the antibody does not need to be biotinylated and the binding is reversible. These beads are ideal for protein isolation and proteomic applications. More importantly, the magnetic properties of the beads allow quick and easy washing steps for protein isolation. Applications: Suitable for use in IgG capture, Capture/Immunoprecipitation, IgG elution and target elution. Other applications have not been tested. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, store at 4°C. Do not freeze! Store beads in well closed vial and in upright position to prevent drying of the beads since this makes them more difficult to resuspend and may decrease their activity. Vortex bead suspension well before use. Beads are stable for 6 months. |
