Technical Data
MCAF (MBD1-containing Chromatin Associated Factor, MCAF1, Activating Transcription Factor 7 Interacting Protein 1, ATF7IP, ATF Interacting Protein, ATF-IP, ATFa-associated Modulator, hAM, p621)
MBD1-containing chromatin-associated factor (MCAF) is a 1270-residue mediator in the DNA methylation cycle of a variety of genomic functions. This nuclear protein will bind to the C-terminal transcriptional repression domain of MBD1 to form a blocking complex. This molecule will then prevent transcription from methylated promoters in a histone deacetylation-independent action.

Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Western Blot: 1:5000-1:20,000
Immunohistochemistry (Frozen/paraffin): 1:10-1:500
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Positive Control:
HeLa Nuclear Extract

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
