Human macrophage/monocyte chemotactic protein-4 (MCP-4) is a member of the b-chemokine family (C-C) of cytokines. Like eotaxin, MCP-4 is a powerful eosinophil chemoattractant. Additionally, like MCP-3, MCP-4 elicits chemoattraction of monocytes and T lymphocytes. MCP-4 is a peptide of 8.5kD that consists of 75 amino acid residues. Source: E. coli Form: Lyophilized protein with no additives. Stability: The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated below 0°C. Reconstituted human MCP-4 should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Reconstitution: The lyophilized MCP-4 is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized protein MCP-4 can be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at -20°C for future use. Biological Activity: The maximal chemotactic activity of human MCP-4 on human monocytes was achieved at 100 ng/ml. The maximal chemotactic activity on human eosinophils was achieved at 10 ng/ml. Molecular Weight: 8.6kD |
