Technical Data
a-Methylacyl CoA Racemase (Alpha Methylacyl CoA Racemase, Alpha Methylacyl Coenzyme A Racemase, AMACR, 2-Arylpropionyl CoA Epimerase, 2-Methylacyl CoA Racemase, EC, Macr1, Methylacyl CoA Racemase alpha, P504S, RACE)
P504S / AMACR / a-Methylacyl-CoA Racemase is an essential 42kD enzyme in the b-oxidation of branched-chain fatty acids. High expression of P504S protein is found in prostatic adenocarcinoma but not in benign prostate tissue by immunohistochemical staining in paraffin-embedded tissue. The expression of P504S is also detected in two premalignant lesions of the prostate: high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) and atypical adenomatous hyperplasia.

Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:100 for 10min at RT
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10min followed by cooling at RT for 20min
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Positive Control:
Prostate carcinoma

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
