Muc-1 is a heavily O-glycosylated transmembrane protein expressed on most secretory epithelium, including mammary gland and some hematopoietic cells. It is expressed abundantly in lactating mammary glands and overexpressed abundantly in >90% breast carcinomas and metastases. Transgenic Muc-1 has been shown to associate with all four cebB receptors and localize with erbB1 (EGFR) in lactating glands.

Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry: 1:100 for 10min at RT
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Positive Control:
MCF-7 cells, breast carcinoma

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
