MutS, Magnetic Mismatch Binding Beads (M2B2), MagDetect™ are used for mutation/polymorphism detection, including screening of human, animal or plant genomic DNA, and any other application requiring binding of mismatch-containing DNA, Magnetic Mismatch Binding Beads (M2B2) provide a simple, versatile and inexpensive alternative to more traditional methods. M2B2 can detect all single base change mutations and small additions or deletions (frameshifts) and can be used with amplified DNA fragments (lengths of 100 to 300 base pairs are preferable). Mutation or mismatch detection using M2B2 does not require the use of expensive instrumentation, radioactivity or gel electrophoresis and can give quantitative results in only a few hours.

Nuclease Activity:
No detectable nuclease activity when incubated with single or double stranded DNA for 16 hours at 37ºC.

Protease Activity:
No significant degradation of protein (as judged by SDS-PAGE), or loss of activity after 16 hours at 37ºC.

Recommended Blocking Agent:
1% BSA (peroxidase free).

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, store at 4°C. Do not freeze! Store beads in well closed vial and in upright position to prevent drying of the beads since this makes them more difficult to resuspend and may decrease their activity. Vortex bead suspension well before use. Beads are stable for 6 months after receipt.
Supplied as a liquid suspension in PBS, 1.5% BSA, 50% glycerol.
5mg beads at 10mg/ml: sufficient for 50, 10ul reactions.
