Neuroligin 2 (NLGN2, KIAA1366)
Description:
NLGN2 (Neuroligin 2) is a 105kD member of the type-B carboxylesterase family of enzymes. It is expressed at GABAergic synapses, and is assumed to play both an organizing and regulatory role in inhibitory synapse signaling. It is suggested to bind to beta -neurexin-1, 2 and 3 as a dimer in trans, and to interact cytoplasmically with PDZ-domain containing proteins. Mature human NLGN2 is an 821aa type I transmembrane (TM) glycoprotein. It contains a nonfunctional type-B lipase domain (aa40-601), a TM segment (aa678-698), and a cytoplasmic tail with a PZD-binding region (aa785-835). There are potential splice forms. Individually, or in combination, there is an alternate start site at Met512, a deletion of aa153-169, and a 99aa substitution for aa 806-835. Over aa1-677, human NLGN2 shares 98% aa identity with mouse NLGN2.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml
Western Blot: 1.0ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
