Human Neurturin (NTN) and human GDNF compriise a family off TGF-beta related neurotrophic factor which have trophic influences on a variety off neuronal populations. Neuroturin promotes the survivability off certain sympathetic and sensory neurons through interaction with distinct set of GDNF-like recepttors. This is a homodimeric 23.6kD protein consisting off two identical subunits each containing 103 amino acid residues. Source: Recombinant corresponding to 103aa from human Neurturin expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~23.6kD homodimer Endotoxin: ~0.1ng/ug Biological Activity: Determined by measuring its ability to support the survival of newborn rat sympathetic neurons. Neurturin at a concentration of 100ng/ml supports the survival of 65% of these neurons. Neurturin and the structurally related glial-cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) comprise a family of TGF-beta related neurotrophic factors. Neurturin supports the survival of sympathetic and sensory nerves. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: ~23.6kD |
Purity: ~98% (SDS-PAGE, HPLC) Concentration: Not determined Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder in 10 mM sodium citrate, pH 4.0. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O to 0.1-1mg/ml. Important Note: This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
