This gene encodes one of four mammalian counterparts to the fruit fly 'dunce' gene. The encoded protein has 3',5'-cyclic-AMP phosphodiesterase activity and degrades cAMP, which acts as a signal transduction molecule in multiple cell types. This gene uses different promoters to generate multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode functional proteins.

Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:128,000
Western Blot: 0.1-0.3ug/ml ~70+80+90kD bands observed in lysates of cell line A549. In transfected COS1 transiently expressing PDE4D1 and PDE4D3 bands of ~68kD and 95kD are observed. These bands are not observed in the untransfected COS1. In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing PDE4D2 multi bands from ~55kD-80kD are observed. These bands are not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. Calculated MW of 91.1kD according to PDE4D1 (NP_001098101.1), 76.5kD according to PDE4D2 (NP_006194.2) and 84.7kD according to PDE4D3 (NP_001159371.1).
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
