Basal medium used in various formulations for the cultivation of fastidious organisms including the production of diphtheria toxin. Appearance: Light beige, homogeneous, free-flowing powder. Solubility: Clear to sl. hazy, amber and complete with heating Moisture: 5% Ash: 12% Amino Nitrogen: 6% Total Nitrogen: 15% pH: 6.5±1 Standard Palnt Count: 5000cfu/g Coliforms: Negative E. coli: Negative Salmonella: Negative/25g Molds and Yeast: 100cfu/g Certificate of Origin: The raw animal product used in the manufacturing of Proteose Peptone #3 is derived from casein originating in the USA. During processing of the product, a batch is heated to a minimum of 80°C for 1 hour including a minimum of 5 minutes at 105°C. The product is then dried at a minimum of 140°C.
