Description: Rubella virus is a human pathogen that causes Rubella (also known as German measles). Rubella is a mild disease characterised by a low-grade fever and possibly a rash. Infection of a woman during the first trimester of pregnancy is far more serious and can lead to a range of birth defects commonly known as congenital rubella syndrome (CRS). The E2 glycoprotein is disulfide-linked to the E1 glycoprotein to form heterodimer spikes on the surface of the virus. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Hemagglutination, and Immunoblot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
