Technical Data
SAPK2b, p38 beta, active (Stress-activated Protein Kinase 2b) Recombinant
Molecular Biology Storage: -20°CShipping: Blue Ice
Essentially identical proteins in mammals (p38 MAP Kinases) and yeast (HOG-1). Inhibitors include protein phosphatase 2A, PTP-1B, CL-100 and pyridinyl imidazols.

Recombinant, GST fusion-protein corresponding to full length human SAPK2b, expressed in E. coli. MW: ~65kD

Specific Activity: 55u/ug using MBP as a substrate (1 unit of SAPK2b/p38beta = 1unit of MAPKAP Kinase-2 generated per minute = 1nmol phosphate incorporated into myelin basic protein (MBP) per minute.)

Applications Coupled Kinase Assay: Enzyme was tested in vitro in a coupled kinase phosphorylation assay using 20-100ng of active SAPK2b to activate GST-MAPKAP Kinase-2, unactivated as shown by phosphorylation of MAPKAP Kinase-2 Substrate Peptide.

Storage and Stability: Stable for 6 months at -20°C from date of shipment.

Molecular Weight:
Source: Human recombinant

Purity: Purified to >80% by affinity chromatography on glutathione-Sepharose™ beads.

Form: 5ug recombinant enzyme in 25ul of 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 150mM NaCl, 0.1mM EGTA, 0.03% Brij-35, 1mM benzamidine, 0.2mM PMSF, 0.1% 2-mercaptoethanol, 50% glycerol.
