Essentially identical proteins in mammals (p38 MAP Kinases) and yeast (HOG-1). Inhibitors include protein phosphatase 2A, PTP-1B, CL-100 and pyridinyl imidazols. Recombinant, GST fusion-protein corresponding to full length human SAPK2b, expressed in E. coli. MW: ~65kD Specific Activity: 55u/ug using MBP as a substrate (1 unit of SAPK2b/p38beta = 1unit of MAPKAP Kinase-2 generated per minute = 1nmol phosphate incorporated into myelin basic protein (MBP) per minute.) Applications Coupled Kinase Assay: Enzyme was tested in vitro in a coupled kinase phosphorylation assay using 20-100ng of active SAPK2b to activate GST-MAPKAP Kinase-2, unactivated as shown by phosphorylation of MAPKAP Kinase-2 Substrate Peptide. Storage and Stability: Stable for 6 months at -20°C from date of shipment. Molecular Weight: ~65kD |
