5-HT1B is a 7TM receptor for serotonin and is expressed on striatal neurons and Purkinje cells in the cerebellum. 5HT1B ligation inhibits glycinergic signaling, appetite, circadian rhythm light responsiveness, and trigeminal-mediated nociception. It is an important pharmacologic target in the treatment of migrane headaches. Human 5HT1B shares 92% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat 5HT1B.

Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 25ug/ml detected Serotonin Receptor 1B in normal human brain cortex and glia tissue sections.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
