SMAD4 (Mothers Against Decapentaplegic Homolog 4, SMAD 4, Mothers Against DPP Homolog 4, Deletion Target In Pancreatic Carcinoma 4, MAD Homolog 4, SMAD Family Member 4, hSMAD4, DPC4, MADH4) |

Description: DPC4 (also named SMAD4; small mothers against decapentaplegic deleted in pancreatic carcinoma). The family of SMAD molecules comprises essential mediators of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-b) signaling. To date, seven members of this family have been identified, each plays a specific and separate role in mediating TGF-b superfamily gene transcription. At least two different members, Smad2 and Smad4/DPC4, have been implicated in human cancer and appear to have tumor-suppressor functions whose inactivation may play an important role in the histogenesis of pancreatic and colorectal malignancy and possibly other human cancers as well. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2h at RT Immunoprecipitation: 2ug/mg protein lysate Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: LS174T, HT29, raji, jurkat cells Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
