Recombinant Human SDF-1 is a non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 68aa and having a molecular weight of ~8kD. The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined to be Lys-Pro-Val-Ser-Leu.

Biological Activity:
The specific activity is determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral T cells activated with PHA and IL-2 using a concentration of 20-80ng/ml.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. For long term storage add 0.1% HSA or BSA. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
