Tie2 (Tunica Internal Endothelial Cell Kinase, Angiopoietin1 Receptor, p140 Tek, Tyrosine Protein Kinase Receptor)
TIE2 (tyrosine kinase with Ig and EGF homology domains 2) is expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells in mice, rats and humans. This receptor possesses a unique extracellular domain containing two immunoglobulin-like loops separated by three epidermal growth factor-like repeats that are connected to three fibronectin type III-like repeats. The ligand for the receptor is Angiopoietin 1. Defects in TIE2 are associated with inherited venous malformations; the TIE2 signaling pathway appears to be critical for endothelial cell-smooth muscle cell communication in venous morphogenesis.

Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Immunoprecipitation: Reported to immunoprecipitate Tie2/TEK.
Western Blot: 0.2-1ug/ml. HUVEC cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with T5498-72. Proteins were visualized using an IgG (HRP) goat anti-mouse and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Immunohistochemistry: Reported to detect Tie2/TEK in frozen, Triton-treated sections. Not suitable for use in paraf n- embedded sections.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
