Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNFa) is a potent lymphoid factor which exerts cytotoxic effects on a wide range of tumor cells and certain other target cells. Human TNF-alpha is a 17.4kD protein containing 157 amino acid residues. Biological Activity: Human TNF-alpha is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50 as determined by the cytolysis of murine L929 cells in the presence of Actinomycin-D is 0.05ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 2x10e7 units/mg. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, 0.1% BSA or HSA. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: 17.4kD |
