Suspend 43 grams per liter of distilled/deionized water, heating to boiling with stirring until completely solubilized. Dispense into appropriate containers, loosen caps and autoclave for 15 minutes at 121ºC (15psi). To prepare blood plates, cool medium to 45°- 50.0°C and add aseptically 5% sheep red blood or 10% horse blood. Dispense into sterile Petri plates.
Store powdered media at RT. Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a dark, low humidity environment. Prepared media should be kept refrigerated and used within a short period of time.
