Control peptide for NFATC4 (Nuclear Factor of Activated T Cells 4) N2301-35, an antibody raised against a synthetic peptide PEGYNEVGPGYTPGEGC (linear) corresponding to an epitope of human NFATC4.
NFAT (Nuclear Factor of activated T Cells) is composed by five members: NFATC (1, 2, 3 and 4) and NFAT5. Genes encoding NFAT proteins are transcribed in almost every tissue, although the expression of individual proteins is more tissue restricted. When intracellular calcium rises, the calmodulin-dependent serine-threonine phosphatase calcineurin dephosphorylates NFAT proteins in the cytoplasm, exposing their NLS (Nuclear Localization Sequence) and inducing their translocation to the nucleus. NFATc4 protein is expressed at highest levels in the developing hippocampus at about the time of birth and responds to normal synaptic activity, which transduces Ca2+ signals mediated by NMDA receptors and L-type Ca2+ channels.
Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
