The enzyme encoded by this gene is classified as a thiolesterase and is responsible for the hydrolysis of S-lactoyl-glutathione to reduced glutathione and D-lactate. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 1:100-1:1600 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide mapping to a fragment of residues within amino acids 279-308 in the C-terminal region of human HAGH.
