The protein encoded by this gene is a glycosylated membrane protein and a non-specific receptor for several chemokines. The encoded protein is the receptor for the human malarial parasites Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium knowlesi. Polymorphisms in this gene are the basis of the Duffy blood group system. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Applications

Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested.

Recommended Dilution

Western Blot: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability

May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide mapping to a fragment of residues within amino acids 1-30 in the N-terminal region of human DARC, UniProt Accession #NP_002027.2; Q16570.

Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.09% sodium azide.

Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.

Specificity

Recognizes human DARC.
