Transcription factor that acts during endoplasmic reticulum stress by activating unfolded protein response target genes. Specifically involved in ER-stress response in astrocytes in the central nervous system (By similartity). May play a role in gliosis. In vitro, binds to box-B element, cAMP response element (CRE) and CRE-like sequences, and activates transcription through box-B element but not through CRE.
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
