Recognizes a protein of 27kD, identified as the Bcl-X protein. This monoclonal antibody shows no cross-reaction with Bcl-2a or Bax protein. Bcl-X has two isoforms, Bcl-XL (long), a 241aa protein which suppresses cell death. And Bcl-XS (short), a 178aa protein lacking a 63aa domain which functions as a dominant inhibitor of Bcl-2. This MAb reacts with both Bcl-XS and Bcl-XL proteins.

Applications
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Flow Cytometry: 0.5-1ug/10e6 cells Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml Immunofluorescence: 1-2ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 1-2ug/500ug protein lysate Immunohistochemistry (Frozen & Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 0.5-1ug/ml/30min @ RT Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control
Jurkat, K562, HL-60, or HeLa Cells. Reed-Sternberg cells in Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa3-14 (Cys-QSNRELVVDFLS) from human Bcl-X.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in 10mM PBS. No preservative added. BSA-Free. Labeled with Biotin.
Purity
Purified by Protein A/G affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Bcl-X, ~27kD. Species Crossreactivity: mouse, rat and porcine.
