MaxLight™650 is a new Far-IR stable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™647, DyLight™649, Cy5™ and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (655nm); Emission (676nm); Extinction Coefficient 250,000.

Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) is a member of the AB hydrolase superfamily, which plays a pivotal role in lipoprotein metabolism and transport, acting as the key enzyme in the hydrolysis of triglycerides and very low density lipoproteins (VLDLs), and the release of free fatty acids into peripheral tissues. A deficiency of LPL can result in hypertriglyceridemia, and many studies have focused on the critical role which LPL plays in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, and in particular the relationship between LPL and apolipoprotein E (ApoE), both of which are secreted in significant amounts by macrophages in developing arterial wall lesions. 214978 is a unique antibody which differentiates between monomeric inactive and dimeric active LPL, and binds to LPL sequences involved in LPL, LPL receptor, and heparin interactions.
214978 has been shown to inhibit the activity of human LPL (Chang et al. 1998), and is widely used in human studies.
Applications
Suitable for use in FLISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: detects a band of ~53kD using partially purified LPL from postheparin plasma. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: MaxLight™650 conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Purified bovine milk lipoprotein lipase. Epitope: aa380-410
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. Labeled with MaxLight™650.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography from tissue culture supernatant.
Specificity
Recognizes bovine lipoprotein lipase. Species Crossreactivity: Chicken, guinea pig, human and rat. Does not react with mouse.
