IL-2 is a secreted cytokine that is important for the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes. The receptor of this cy- tokine is a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is also shared by interleukin 4 (IL4) and interleukin 7 (IL7). The expression of this gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, which represents an unusual regulatory mode for controlling the precise expression of a single gene. The targeted disruption of a similar gene in mice leads to ulcerative colitis-like disease, which suggests an essential role of this gene in the immune response to antigenic stimuli.

Applications
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Flow Cytometry: 1ug/10e6 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to mouse IL-2 expressed in E. coli.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in 1ml PBS, sodium azide. Labeled with Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC).
Purity
Purified
Specificity
Recognizes mouse Interleukin-2.
