PIWIL4 belongs to the Argonaute family of proteins, which function in development and maintenance of germline stem cells.It plays a central role during spermatogenesis by repressing transposable elements and prevent their mobilization, which is essential for the germline integrity.May be involved in the chromatin-modifying pathway by inducing 'Lys-9' methylation of histone H3 at some loci.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 1:2000-1:5000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
